August the Misogynist

So I was listening to the Miss Julie play (because we have this assignment in our Swedish class where we have to answer a bunch of questions about the play and then discuss it together on Monday) and omg - this shit is bullshit. How is August Strindberg even famous? His characters are so poorly written. Especially Miss Julie - who’s the freaking main character.

She’s so badly written that she’s even worse than Steven Moffat’s River Song & Irene Adler combined.

I know his literature is old and things were different back then, but people are still praising his work and they make him look like a fucking God of literature here in Sweden - when he isn’t even that good. Has no one even noticed how terribly sexist this play is? How can they still look up to this nonsense?
